Welcome to Evans & Williams FC web site. We are a club that will be celebrating our 50th year in 2010, so here’s a little intro to our club.
The club was formed in 1960 by some workers from the Evans & Williams wagon works. The club was given it’s nickname “ Albies “ after one of the founder members-Albie Evans.
The club played it’s 1st competitive match on 20th August 1960. They played Trostre in the 2nd division of the Carmarthenshire League and recorded a 4-2 victory with goals from J.Stevens, D.North, G.Morris and M.Davies.

The 90's faired a lot better for Albies, with Anthony Yash Rees and Fred Smith coming in as managers bringing a lot of young players to add to the squad that was already there. 1992 the 1st team got promoted to the 2nd division and it was the year after that saw a change in management. 1993 saw a well needed influx of youth which mixed really well with the experience that was already at the club. This saw the 1st team promoted once again to the 1st division. Albies stayed in division 1 for 6 years until they won the Championship in 98/99. Along the way they made it to the Challenge Cup final twice only to lose out. The reserves weren’t going to leave the 1st team have all the fun, getting promoted from division 3 in 95/96 and up to division 1 in 97/98.

LEFT TO RIGHT BACK ROW: Lee Timbrell, Paul Rees, Guy Caton, Terry Galloway, Gary Evans, Ian Meredith, Dean Finan, Wayne Presscott, Mathew Williams, Stuart Mahoney, Johnathan Booth, Ben Gregory, Simon Roberts, Johnny Perrott, Meurig Morris and Dean Fisher.
FRONT ROW: Dean Davies, Wayne Rogers, Matthew Thomas, Phill Williams, Gareth Hickman, Robert Thomas, David Thomas, Darren Mould, Robert Jones, Matthew Smith and Neil Williams.
With only a year left in the 00’s the club has had it’s ups and downs. While the club remained mainly a middle table outfit, they had to battle relegation twice but have also won the Senior Cup and TG Davies Cup, got to the semi final of the West Wales Cup, been to Steboneath on many occasions and finished runners up in the Premier Division for the past 2 years.
What will 2010 bring, who knows? But it’s looking up!
